Hello! We are George and Nicole; we are the owners of the Klondike Electric brand, which includes Klondike Electric Cars. Back in May 2015, we were just like you! We were about to embark on a journey that forever changed our lives. We boarded a cruise ship headed for Alaska…and we instantly fell in love with the majestic landscapes and the laidback lifestyle. While visiting Skagway, we rented a vehicle and took the journey into the Yukon. It was at that point that we knew we would be back again. We did not know when, or for how long, but we knew this was not the end of our Alaskan journey!

Fast forward two years; we decided to leave our home in Florida for summer jobs in Skagway! After traveling 26 days across the country in our travel trailer, we arrived in Skagway…and immediately knew we were home. We continued to work seasonally for three years until we decided that it was time to lay down roots here in Skagway. In 2019, we decided to buy a house and start the groundwork for Klondike Electric Bicycles to open in 2020.

Our dream was about to become reality…and then the world stopped due to the Pandemic. We still opened…although we had no cruises that year. We worked tirelessly to pivot and grow our brand, so we could live to see the day when cruise passengers would return to Skagway. During that time, we added Klondike Gift Supply, a gift shop curated with items inspired by the sights, smells, and creative spirits of Alaska.

Our electric car rentals are the latest addition and expansion of our brand. It seemed like a natural transition to add electric cars to our fleet. We believe this place is truly special and by offering electric vehicles (bikes and cars), we pride ourselves on being good stewards of this land that we are so fortunate to live on! Our hope is that we can preserve the beauty by offering vehicles with a lower carbon footprint.

Unfortunately, our world was rocked in a big way when George was diagnosed with cancer in November 2022. In a shock to our world, George passed away very unexpectedly in February 2023. As a family, we knew that we needed to continue on…even if it was difficult and overwhelming.

Our team continues to strive to provide you with the ultimate experience while visiting Skagway. It is our mission to help make Skagway your favorite destination during your travels to Alaska. We will continue to honor George every day as we carry on in this exceptional life.
